Modern art education and traditional art are confronted with the challenges of globalization, therefore we are required to bring forth art talent to meet the needs of the times, so as to make Chinese calligraphy as the essence of Chinese culture go forward in progress with the times, and to set up a platform for dialogue with modern world art to make this art form more vigorous and open. The Center was established in accordance with the “Diversity in Harmony” academic principle and the “Broad Foundation, High Pursuit” educational thought of the Academy and catered to the reality of calligraphy teaching, creativity and theoretical research at the Academy. The objectives of the Center is to set up a modern calligraphy teaching and research system in the Academy so as to keep it at the forefront of higher education in the field of modern calligraphy.
