Located at the Zhangjiang High-Tech Area, Pudong, Shanghai, the institute was founded as a branch of the China Academy of Art with the approval of the Ministry of Culture in 1997. In 1999, it changed its administration to a“president-responsibility” system with a board of directors. It covers an area of 2.6 hectares. Thanks to the combined efforts of faculty and students as well as the outstanding geographical location of Shanghai, the institute has achieved great success in the fields of scientific research, teaching management, student development and international academic exchange. There are specialties related to metropolitan vision and design such as Vision Transformation Design, Landscape Design; Garments Design; Industry Design; Multimedia and Web Design.
